Terms of Use
Effective 7 September 2026These terms are the agreement between you and M B Squared Inc. (“we”, “us”), a company in Phoenix, Arizona, for the SÒMI website and the SÒMI iOS app. Using SÒMI means you accept them.
Your account
You need an email address to sign in, and you must be at least 16. Keep access to your inbox secure — anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Your content is yours
You keep every right you have in the photos, trips and words you put into SÒMI. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, process it, and show it to you and to the people you have invited. Nothing you upload is used to train models, shown to other users, or published anywhere by us. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
What you agree not to do
Upload content you have no right to share; upload anything unlawful, or sexual content involving minors; use SÒMI to harass anyone; try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service; or resell access to it. We may suspend or close an account that does these things.
Sharing and invitations
An invitation link is a credential: whoever holds it can accept it. Send them only to people you mean to let in, and revoke any you did not mean to send.
An invitation is to an atlas, not to a single trip. Someone who accepts one can see everything in that atlas — every trip in it, and every trip added to it afterwards. There is no way to share one trip on its own today.
Free and paid
Subscriptions are not yet available. When they are, SÒMI will have a free tier and a paid one, and the only difference is how much you can keep: the free tier holds one journey and up to 25 photos, and a subscription removes both limits. Every feature — sharing, the Journey film, rankings, draft suggestions — is in the free tier and stays there.
If you pass a limit while unsubscribed, your existing content stays exactly where it is and remains readable; you will not be able to add more until you remove some or subscribe. We do not delete content because a subscription lapsed.
Subscriptions and billing
On the web: payment is taken by Stripe. A subscription is $49.99 per year or $14.99 per month and renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel any time in your account; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep the paid tier until the current period ends. We do not give partial refunds for an unused part of a period, except where the law where you live requires one.
In the iOS app: payment is taken by Apple through In-App Purchase. A subscription is $49.99 per year or $14.99 per month. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and it renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings; deleting the app does not cancel it. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us.
If we change the price, we will tell you by email before it applies, and you can cancel first.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time; it takes your journal with it. We can close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law stops us. If we ever shut SÒMI down, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export what you put in.
The boring, necessary part
SÒMI is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and your data safe, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and it is not a backup service — keep your own copies of photos that matter. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
These terms are governed by the law of Arizona, USA, and the courts of Maricopa County, Arizona have jurisdiction. If a clause is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
Changes
We will update the date above when these terms change, and tell you by email if the change is material. Continuing to use SÒMI after that means you accept the new terms.
